What a great day for rugby, clear blue sky and a team raring to go. From the start the boys went on the attack, the ball flowed well through their hands, the odd slip up with the early morning dew, but some lovely rugby followed. Two early try's went our way but Diss were strong in defence and the scrum, so Southwold had to fight hard for the ball. When we were in possession we moved the ball around the pitch impressively, our forwards did well in the rucks and we made ground consistently with a further 3 trys and one conversion for Southwold before half time.
The second half started with Diss pilling on the pressure, they won most of their scrums and made some good ground but Southwold showed resolve and when in possession James, Jack, Callum, Phillip, Luke and Will all made some excellent runs, many ending in trys. Diss never gave up and even when the score reached 50:0 opted to play on. Their perseverance payed off and an excellent run down the wing earn them a well deserved try. In the dying moments of the game Luke made one of his blistering runs with two or three great side steps to score and end an excellent game.
Trys: Hamish 2, Callum 3, Phillip 2, Will 2, Owen 1, Luke 1
Conversions: Charlie 4
