Southwold dominate from the kick off.

The boys got off to a great start with the wind to their backs, quick ball out to Luke on the wing gave them a lead after just a few minutes, Charlie converted a difficult kick. We maintained the pressure and rucked well not giving Hadleigh a chance to settle. Line outs were difficult with the strong wind and we won a scrum in their 22. The forwards did a great job in the scrum not buckling to the bigger pack. A quick break from this scrum gave James an opening to put us another 5 points ahead, which Charlie again converted.
Hadleigh continued to try to make headway but couldn’t get into the Southwold half. Some good fast ball from the backs gave Hamish a run down the wing to give us another try. From the kick off the ball was moved quickly to the wing and within a few moments Luke had run the length of the pitch to score again. Charlie converted another difficult kick.
We were almost on half time when Hamish broke through there line to put us at 31: 0 going into half time.
We started the second half slowly and Hadleigh managed to make a few breaks into our half, but found our defence to strong. The whole Southwold team kept their composure and the forwards continued to work hard in the ruck, Zack, Edward, Tom and Will deserve particular mention for their work rate. Hamish broke through again and ran the length of the field but in his haste ran over the game line. The boys kept up the work rate and again Hamish managed to break through, this time to score but unfortunately the high wind made it a difficult kick for Charlie.
