Here we go with my First under 9's reports

from the Woodbridge Festival...

SOUTHWOLD 20 V 0 IPSWICH
Anton x 2.... both tries from scrums
Ben.N x 2... after excellent runs

In this match we contolled it from the out start. we didnt allow Ipswich to come into our half once we held our own with some excellent tackling and very strong play, Ben.N excellent running with the ball after Ipswich lost the ball to score and no one could keep up with him.

SOUTHWOLD 10 V 10 BURY ST EDMUNDS
Anton x 2.. one from a scrum and one from excellent tackling from Hugo to steal the ball away for Anton

In match number 2. it was against what we call our nememis team (from the tag days) we had some excellent tackling from Anton Riley and Harry. Hugo was full of running. and Josh with his elastic arms when it looked like the Bury player was thru and about to score he some how stopped him.

SOUTHWOLD 20 V 10 COLCHESTER
Anton x 1... run the length of the match after stealing the ball.
Ben.N ... also run length of the match from throw in. 2nd after a scrum pass from Anton. 3rd after been on the defensive Riley
Christain and Hugo pushed them 10 foot up the pitch then Hugo broke late pass to Ben for the try. this match we did some great tackling and Theo had some lovely runs to move the ball up the pitch.

SOUTHWOLD 20 V 0 BISHOPS STORTFORD
Anton x 1...power run couldnt stop him
Ben.S x1...team passing but Ben thru great team play
Theo x1.... long run, dancing his way to the line
Riley x1.... power run and change of direction..

Match 4 we played really well lovely team play Hugo Ben.s Ben.n had some lovely runs Theo long run to score.

FINAL SOUTHWOLD 5 V 15 WOODBRIDGE
Ben.N x1 pass after scrum. good pass from Harry.

We got to the final to play Woodbridge. but i think the hour wait to play again and change of pitch didnt help. They seemed to only wake up after half time. but we were 10 down by then. we still managed to tough it out .. Woodbridge seemed to be a tough team matching our boys the same. but having the luck of the ball.

SUMMARY... In all our under 9's played some lovely rugby and got there first trophy even if it was for runners up. the whole team linked well and knew there jobs. some great tackling and some really proud parents . clapping our boys off at the end.. i can see a winners trophy coming our way soon.. fingers crossed.
