Our Vice Chairman, Martin Fuller, takes the reins.

David Vaughan has stood down as Chairman of Southwold Rugby after serving 4 years in post. He has recently started a new business and also got married and has decided, understandably, to dedicate more time to both.

We wish him all the best and thank him for his unfaltering dedication and commitment to our rugby club during his tenure as Chairman and also Youth Chairman, No.10, coach, Exec member and all the other roles he has held!

David hands over to Martin Fuller who steps-up from Vice-Chairman to take the reins.

As Martin grew up in Bungay he is officially one of the original "Bungay Boys". He played for Southwold from 1993 and captained the 2nd XV for several years. He's been a VP ever since and a regular at Club Lunches and on the touchline. He is also one of a few club members who actually lives in Southwold!

After graduating from Sheffield, Martin joined the Royal Marines as a commissioned Officer and served in various roles around the world, finishing eight years later assigned to the United Nations. He returned to Suffolk and has worked in various jobs from transport management to electricity generation in both the Nuclear and Offshore Wind industries.

Martin is very much looking forward to meeting everyone involved with the club as soon as he can and hopes that things get back to some sort of normality quickly. Having jumped in the deep-end, partly due to the global pandemic, he's realised that being Chairman of Southwold Rugby is highly likely to keep him very busy in retirement!

Arn the Wold DV and Martin!
