This is incredibly exciting news and a huge achievement for both Annabel and Maddie, who played key roles in helping Eastern Counties Women reach the Gill Burns Division 2 County Championship Final.

It’s believed to be the first time players from the club have represented Eastern Counties at this level, and now they’re hoping to be selected for the squad that will take the field at Twickenham.

Eastern Counties came through their toughest challenge yet in the semi-final, where both Annabel and Maddie and the team showed grit and determination to earn their place in the final. It’s a proud moment not only for the players and the club, but also for the wider East Anglian rugby community.

This joint success reflects the continued growth and strength of women’s rugby in Norfolk and Suffolk- a powerful reminder of the talent and teamwork flourishing in the region.
