Southwold v L&Y

Ten Southwold U10s made the trip to Lowestoft & Yarmouth on Sunday 22nd January for a friendly fixture, in conditions that bore a close resemblance to those frequently experienced at Southwold!. For various reasons, L & Y had only 6 players available on the day, so in the true spirit of international rugby, Southwold loaned L & Y two players to even up the sides.
In the first half, Renee scored 2 tries for the opponents, leading the Seagulls to question their decision to lend him to L & Y. Southwold retained an interest in the game with a try by Freddie. The second half went Southwold's way, by 3 tries to 1. Having returned to his own side, Renee scored twice with Will getting the other. Final score 4-3 to Southwold.
After a short break, a second game was won 5-0 by Southwold, with tries by Jack, Will (2) and Renee (2).
The boys rucked and tackled well and created some good opportunities for running rugby.
Spare a thought for Dylan, who missed the game through illness, and all the boys that received injuries. Well done to everybody, and particular thanks to those that put on a blue and white shirt for L & Y to make it an even contest
