.. so we loaned them a player or two. Being a team of mostly forwards they were hard to gauge at the begining so it took us a while to get our strategy right. We moved the ball around well and the rucking work we had put in on the training ground started to pay off, two quick try's followed and we had settled into the game. Hadleigh were strong and put our defence under pressure at times, but our speed in moving the ball around gave us a small advantage and 3 more try's and a conversion (well kicked by Sam on what was a very windy day) gave us a 27 : 0 lead at half time.
Hadleigh came out fighting and again pressed our defence, it was an end to end half with neither side looking like they were running out of steam. Hadleigh's persistence payed off and they scored a well deserved try. Southwold then got back into the swing of moving the ball around. In the scrum we were outstanding and 3 more try's followed all involving most of the team at some point either from the scrum, a ruck or excellent passing out to the wing. But Hadleigh showed great resolve and our loaned player (Louie) made a blistering run down the wing in the dying moments to give them a second well deserved try.
