Beccles and Southwold have a friendly rivalry and this was seen today in a hard fought match, injuries have hit Southwold early this year and only 13 players were available for the trip, Beccles were generous in supplying a prop and flanker to ensure fairness on the pitch.
Beccles started well they and didn't allow Southwold much of the ball, the pressure mounted and Beccles scored a good try in the corner. This woke Southwold up a bit and they started to defend better and retain the ball when they got it. Southwold then made the scores level. Louis kicked a long ball towards Callum on the wing who collected it and ran into the corner to score.
The game was now quite even Beccles were strong and rucking well, with Southwold defending furiously and not allowing Beccles through there lines. Tries were exchanged and Lamps and Raife both powered through to score but Beccles also scored two tries and converted them to lead 19-15 at the end of the second period (games was split into three due to the heat).
In the third period the strength and passing skill of Southwold really came through and they scored two more tries with out reply to win 10-25, Callum and Lamps both scoring there second tries of the game.

Credit to Beccles for the way they played and great praise to the Southwold boys who have seen major changes in the squad and coaching team.
