From the start the match was played at speed with Southwold moving the ball along the line at an impressive pace. We went into the lead with two early trys from Hamish, after some impressive work from the scrum. Phillip, Callum Azelwood and Callum Easton made some great tackles to stop Swaffham from making headway into our half. We gave away a silly penalty on our 22 which was quickly passed to their big no7 who made an impressive run to score. We again moved the ball quickly from the ruck and took another 3 trys before half time one each from Naill, Callum Azelwood and Hamish, with Phillip converting only one to give us a 27:5 lead at half time.
The boys were full of running and again passed the ball well, Will, Olly, Louis and Owen all came within meters of scoring but the Swaffham defence put up a solid performance. Some excellent passing from Phillip and Callum Azelwood put Hamish clear again to make some excellent runs and score another 5 trys, one of which was converted by Owen. All in all this was a great team performance a number of players were playing out of their normal positions but they soon adapted and the whole team supported each other in what was an excellent performance.
Trys: Hamish 9, Naill, 1, Callum Azelwood 1
Conversions: Phillip 1, Owen 1.
