Great team performance gives Southwold another win.

Great spirit from the start of the game saw Southwold take an early lead when Luke made an impressive run from the half way line to score the first try. The boys settled well and fought for the ball at every opportunity. The scrums proved difficult against a strong Holt pack that made things tricky for us on many occasions. Our tackling and defence were excellent and as hard as Holt tried, it proved to be difficult for them to break through. Some excellent work from the backs gave Hamish, Phillip and James the opportunity to break through Holt's defence and score so with Charlie’s conversions we went into half time 26 : 0 up.
Holt came back at us after half time and piled on the pressure. Southwold defended well and Phillip made a great solo run down the wing to score. The game ebbed and flowed and Hamish then made a great run down the wing supported by Niall who took the ball well from Hamish as he was tackled to go on to score an outstanding try. Holt came straight back at us and intercepted the ball on the half way line and ran through to score an excellent try. Southwold never lost focus and some excellent work from Edward, Will Donsworth and the rest of the forwards gave Hamish and Luke the opportunity to score again. This was closely followed by Charlie making an excellent pickup on the 22 to run through to score. Holt put us under pressure on our 5 yard line on a number of occasions in the last 10 minutes but we defended well and at the final whistle the score was Southwold 57: Holt 7.
