Last minuite Conversion gives Southwold the Win

The boys soon found themselves in a game straight from the kick off against a well organized Woodbridge side, who took the lead after just a few minutes. Southwold were at times very careless, poor follow up from the forwards and some school boy handling errors left us under pressure at times. Woodbridge pushed forward very quickly winning most of the loose ball and were soon attacking hard, another try came making it 10 : 0 to Woodbridge. Southwold continued to battle hard and a breakaway by Hamish pulled us to within 5pts on the stroke of half time.
The second half saw some early handling errors and sloppy passes. Woodbridge pilled on the pressure and made the most of the loose ball. Charlie kicked to clear our lines which was caught very well and returned catching us off guard for a third Woodbridge try. Southwold dug deep and were quicker to support each other and started winning more of the scrums and line outs. The hard work paid off Niall made some good ground for us with a number of great runs down the wing, the forwards were fully committed and this gave Hamish the opportunity to break away from the ruck for another try. Woodbridge and Southwold both kept piling on the pressure but Southwold seemed to be winning the battle we were within 5 yards of their line and a break from the back of the scrum gave Hamish his third try. Charlie did a great job in converting a real pressure kick to give Southwold the lead for the first time in the game.
Woodbridge pilled on the pressure for the final few minutes but a battling Southwold held on for the victory, which could have gone either way in this evenly matched game.
