Southwold U9's 35 v Norwich U9's 10

The team squad started with 6 players with 2 Norwich players kindly volunteering to make it 8 aside and Felix from Beccles who came over to bolster the squad.

After a tentative start Southwold warmed up after some excellent tackling by Jade and Freddie and a great driving forward run by Renee. Fabulous passing by Jade, Renee and Freddie resulted in an excellent try by Dylan who outpaced the defence to score in the corner. Dylan followed up with another try in the other corner after showing great vision at the scrum, darting up the blind side and touching down. Southwold's determination and driving forward enabled Freddie to score a try with a superb charge for the line. Slippery ducking and diving by Jade gave Southwold another fabulous try. Great focus and defence by Jake and Will, who were involved in all aspects of the game and fully committed, helped prevent Norwich getting any opportunities to make headway not to mention excellent tackling by Jade. Norwich never gave up and made a great break but were thwarted by a crunching tackle by Renee.
Norwich snatched a try just before half time.

A great attacking start to the 2nd half with a lovely run by Freddie giving another try to the home side. A Southwold line out 5yards from the line and a dash by Renee resulted in another try for Southwold. Norwich gained their 2nd try in the last moments of play with an excellent break and run.

Southwold's teamwork, tenacity and focus gave them supremacy, resulting in another admirable win. Well done boys!!

The magnificent 7 head to Woodbridge this Sunday with Charlie Morphey back into the fold.
