Southwold hits back after first half Hadliegh masterclass

Hadleigh started well and had the upper hand for much of the first half and despite some brilliant tackling by Southwold, a very well organised Hadleigh were able to score a number of tries. A constructive half time team talk from Matt and Brooke saw a determined Southwold come out firing! A series of last ditch tackling by Jack D prevented Hadleigh from scoring early in the second half and his well timed interception quickly turned defence into attack and resulted in a Southwold try.

In the centre of the pitch, Hoogs found himself in the thick of the action and he was able to make a considerable amount of ground, which opened things up for Duncan who skilfully weaved his way through the Hadleigh defence to score a number of tries. Throughout the game, fast footed Cecily evaded tackles and stopped a handful of Hadleigh attacks . Last year’s most improved player of the season, Luca scored one of the tries of the match much to the delight of his team mates. Harry’s distribution and contribution in defence was consistently excellent and helped to keep Southwold moving forward. Tom B’s work rate was again faultless and he picked a few well deserved tries of his own too. Chase and Fraser worked well as a partnership and ensured Southwold were constantly on the attack and remained competitive until the last whistle!
